To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before

Movie: To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before

Genre: Teen , romance,  comedy

Country: USA

Director: Susan Johnson

Storyline:

This teenage romantic movie is an adaptation of the novel that has same
name by American author Jenny Han.
Like novel the movie also gained popularity specifically among young adults. With three sequels the movie focuses on Lara Jean Covey who is 16 years old mostly spends her time with her family.
She doesn’t have much friends and her two sisters are the closest. Her life was very ordinary with not much of excitement and same stuff everyday.

Until one day her mischievous little sister posted some love letters she wrote confessing her feelings to her crushes at  different times in her life.
Even though she wrote them out of curiosity, she never meant to post them.
Then suddenly one morning she was running in the tracks at school , one of her crushes Peter Kevinsky reached her showing the letter and out of shock she collapsed.
Among all five letters only one of them was responded.
This was just the start of Lara Jean’s overwhelming and exciting life.
This was  the plan of her little sister all along so that her big sister gets to enjoy her life at least a little bit. Then there were major turn of events.
Romance started to gather in her life and she really started to enhance life and embraced the feeling of being loved.
The following sequel was about increasing tension in Lara Jean’s life.
But everything happening  taught her lessons and some deep realisations.

Although at some point in the movie you may find overdramatic events that were unnecessary.
Teenage love and suspicion was the main ingredients that kept it moving.
The character Lara Jean was showed rather confused.

Cast:
Inspite of all the loopholes, you will have fun watching it on holidays with friends.
There were excitement and drama.
Moreover the beautiful Lana Condor and handsome Noah Centineo did a great job being protagonists. In the second sequel John Fisher is also seen in an important role.

This was the very movie that made an important place for in the heart of young adults and teenagers.  The excitement of entering a hopeful relationship between two teenagers and all the growing expectations surrounding it was like the reincarnation of 90’s or 2000’s rom-com movies but in a new way coping up with the millennial ideas. The third sequel of this movie is yet to come this year. You can always read the novels for some spoilers. But eventually watching it live will add some more spices. A perfect movie for valentines day.
